The Foundation

The Choroideremia Research Foundation Canada, Inc. (CRFC) was formed in August of 2004 and was granted charity status by the Canadian government in early 2005. This means that Canadian donors receive a tax receipt for income tax purposes. We have no paid employees and all work is performed by dedicated volunteers. Our overhead costs are minimal.

In the Fall of 2005 more than 35 CRFC supporters ran the Kelowna B.C. marathon to raise funds for choroideremia research and build awareness.

We are currently developing a Scientific Advisory Committee and building linkages to key choroideremia researchers, other international and national choroideremia organizations.

The CRFC participates in the Yahoo Groups choroideremia listserve. It is a free online international forum where persons touched by choroideremia can access research updates and advice. To subscribe to the listserve, send a blank email to: choroideremia-subscribe@yahoogroups.com.
